Dearest Porter,

Intensity. Compassion. Kindness. Generosity. These are the words that immediately come to mind when I think of you. You love, and you love hard.

Your mind is always on. You continually evaluate and reevaluate your environment, looking for ways to bring improvement. Sometimes you are met with opposition by those who can’t see (or won’t see) the many upgrades you are proposing. Always remember, the good is the eternal enemy of the best. May the short-sightedness of others (including your parents) never quench your desire to seek out God's best. May you speak truth to others in Godly boldness, but also in Godly grace (Colossians 4:6).

You possess the heart of a warrior. Relentless. Passionate. Determined. Just. You have a God-given desire to do what is right, and you hold yourself to a high moral standard. Please know though, you will make mistakes. Many, many mistakes. In fact, you will flat out sin. But no matter what you do, nothing, and I mean nothing, can separate you from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus your Lord (Romans 8:39). Relish in this truth!

Boyce General Store

Today, we traveled down to southern Kentucky and had lunch at Boyce General Store in Alvaton. This may be the cutest little hometown restaurant we've ever seen, and the food was mighty good too!

This Kid is Stylin'

Oh, this girl! I let her dress herself today. She is accessorized with a winter hat (it's 50 degrees outside) as well as her crown, her (fake) leather jacket, and a magic wand. Makes perfect sense!
