LEGO Millennium Falcon

For Christmas, we got Porter the Star War's LEGO Millenium Falcon. With over 1300 pieces, this was by far the largest and most challenging LEGO set he has put together. It took him a couple of days to complete, but he did it!

Christmas Train Ride

To complete our evening at the Kentucky Horse Park's annual Southern Lights event, we took a Christmas train ride. What a great night!

Parakeet Paradise

This evening, we had so much fun at the Kentucky Horse Park's annual Southern Lights event. This was our second time going, and it was even better than the first. One of the attractions for this event was a trailer full of parakeets. The kids loved it!

Go Stella!

Each year, Stella's church preschool hosts a fall festival for the community. They always put on a fantastic event! This year, they had an inflatable ball jumping course that Stella was determined to conquer. It took her several times, but she finally got across... in a dress no less!

Cinderella & Grandma Kaye

Grandma Kaye has come down to Lexington for a visit! We've all been looking forward to her arrival for a while now! While here, Grandma was able to see Stella dress-up as Cinderella for her preschool Fall Party.

I just love the top-left picture of Stella with her eyes closed, thoroughly enjoying her pumpkin cookie. This kid takes after her mom!

King Porter

This year for Fall Festival, Stella decided she wanted to dress as Cinderella. Porter had planned to dress as a Stars Wars character, but Stella asked him if he would instead dress as her Prince Charming. Porter replied, "I won't dress as your Prince Charming, but I would go as your king." Stella happily agreed, and King Porter was born!

The picture above shows Porter sporting his king costume we just received from Amazon. He also has a shiny new sword on the way!

Pipe-Cleaner Power Bracelets

Stella got a hold of the pipe-cleaners today, and made "power bracelets." I'm not exactly sure what these bracelets do, but I'm sure I don't want to find out!

The Underwear Bandit

Somewhere along the way, Stella got it in her head that bandits wear masks... made of underwear! I'm not exaggerating, she wears underwear on her head all the time. I try to not cramp her style, but I do insist that she only wears clean pairs!

Sidewalk Chalk Princess

Stella goes through a 48-count pack of Crayola sidewalk chalk faster than anyone I know! It's hard to keep her well-stocked, but hopefully, this new pack will get her through the rest of fall!

Stella has been very clear with us, she does not have a unicorn, she has a CUTIE-CORN! No other name will do!

Cove Springs Park

With today's beautiful weather, we revisited Cove Springs Park in Frankfort, Kentucky. We had a great time!

We enjoyed a long enough walk through the park that we actually wore the kids out... at least for an hour or two!

Stella's First Day of Big Girl Preschool

Today is Stella's first day of 4-year-old preschool! She was so excited! In fact, she RAN right into her classroom and never looked back. If only her momma could take it as well!

Lil' Fashionista

Now, this is a look! Stella managed to pull off a great look with my hat, purse, and sandals. Maybe she should start dressing me...

Well Worth It

Here's Stella enjoying an activity that involves ink, water, and oil. Truth be known, clean up is a bit of a bear for all this, but it's well worth it for the amount of joy it brings this girl.

Olympic Training Center

Today, we had the opportunity to visit one of Brian's old stomping grounds, the Olympic Training Center. Brian moved to the training center when he was 19 years old and lived there for about a year and a half.

Touring the Olympic Training Center

I've heard Brian speak of this place many times, and it was a real treat to finally see the place that had such a powerful impact on his life.

8th Mountain Ranch

While in Colorado, we had the opportunity to visit our friends at 8th Mountain Ranch in Castle Rock.

Porter and Stella at 8th Mountain Ranch

We all had an amazing time!

Stella Riding on Jonathon

8th Mountain Ranch is an incredible non-profit organization founded by our friends, Dale and Amy Eben, that pairs rescued horses with young people who have known pain and struggle. As the two work together, healing and hope are found as they encounter the transforming love of Christ Jesus.

Porter Working with Jonathon

Check out the video below of Stella enjoying a great ride with her new buddy, Jonathon!

Porter wasn't interested in riding a horse, but he was excited to lead one! Check it out:

If you're looking for good soil to sow financial seed, I highly recommend checking out 8th Mountain Ranch's website for more information on their highly transformational organization and programs.

Snowflakes on Pikes Peak

Here's Stella trying to grab a few snowflakes for lunch at the top of Pikes Peak:

Top of Pikes Peak

We did not plan very well for our trip to Pikes Peak. At the bottom of the mountain, it was 82 degrees and sunny. We dressed accordingly, wearing shorts and tee-shirts.

View from the Top of Pikes Peak

At the top of the mountain, it was super windy and snowing! Thank goodness we had a couple of sweatshirts and a jacket in the trunk of the car. It was so cold, but that didn't stop us from taking advantage of this great photo op!
