Ramseyer Farms

Today, our family headed to Ramseyer Farms in Wooster, Ohio for an afternoon of hay rides, picking pumpkins, and drinking apple cider.

Daddy & Porter at Ramseyer Farms

There is a lot to do and see at Ramseyer Farms. Porter really enjoyed going down the corn slide. Check out the video below to see him in action:

Porter also loved looking at all of the tractors and farm equipment. Here he is inside of a giant John Deere tractor:

Porter in the Driver's Seat

After awhile, Daddy had to pull him out of the driver's seat, or he would have stayed there all day!

There were also lots of live goats at Ramseyer Farms for children to feed. However, there were no live cows. So Porter found the next best thing!

Porter's Cow Milking Adventure

The "milking" part of this cow was a big hit!

Milking a Plastic Bucket

Daddy and Porter took a ride on a wagon train pulled by a John Deer tractor. Porter loved every minute of it!

Taking a Ride with Daddy

The best part of our day at Ramseyer Farms was probably when all three of us jumped into the gigantic bed of corn! This was an awesome sensation!

After our adventures in the bed of corn, we were off to find some pumpkins! Here's Daddy and Porter searching for just the right ones:

Porter picked his very own pumpkin, and it was adorable!

At the end of our time at Ramseyer Farms, we walked away with four perfect pumpkins. We now have a tall one for Daddy, a round one for Mommy, a cute, little one for Porter, and a green, baby size one for our precious child in the womb!

Count Down

Today marked the third prenatal visit for our precious one in the womb. All looked good, and the baby's heartbeat was 140. We're only 10 days away from the 20-week ultrasound! I cannot wait!

Daddy's House

Today, Porter and I took a drive out to Orrville to have lunch with Daddy.

Porter on Daddy's Shoulders

Porter loves to visit Daddy at work, and he calls the Smucker's campus "Daddy's house."

Porter at Daddy's Work

I don't know, Porter.  If anyone could claim this campus as their "house," I think it would be Tim and Richard Smucker!

"So few people seem to realize that everything’s designed. And until we get some good people telling the story, that’s probably going to continue to be the case. So I’d love it if there was a consciousness in the public mind that mathematics and reading and writing is not enough — you also need to learn how to do design. Because everything is designed, and the way our world exists around us depends on how well it’s designed."

Sunday Silliness

With having a very energetic and playful two-year old, we spend a lot of our time at playgrounds.

Today, we went to the Green YMCA's playground, and had it all to ourselves.  It was great!

Watching Porter play brings me great joy. I just love the fact that he is confident, capable, and curious! Porter has no fear (which we do need watch), and loves to explore and figure out how this whole world works.

The best part of our playground adventure today was that Daddy was in attendance. Porter and Daddy are absolutely crazy when they are together!

Here's a video of Daddy and Porter's rough housing ways:

Perfect Day

Today was the perfect day to visit the the zoo.  The temperature was just right, and we went early enough that the park wasn't overly crowded.  It was a delightful trip!

Here's Daddy looking good as always next to the duck pond:

The farmland section of the Akron Zoo is probably our favorite.  Porter just loves to feed the goats and sheep!

We just love our family membership to the Akron Zoo!

Out of the House

Today, Porter and I were in dire need to get out of the house and have some fun!  We went to our favorite playground found at Munroe Falls Metro Park and romped around for over 2 hours.

Here's a video of some of Porter's fun:

This was certainly a memorable Labor Day weekend for our family. On Saturday evening, I began to have abdominal pain. I chalked this up to pregnancy heartburn and tried to go to sleep. However, the pain grew more severe as the hours past. Around 4AM, after the pain had reached beyond my tolerance level, I woke Brian up. He had me call my doctor right then, and she said I needed to get to the ER right away. Five hours and 1 ultrasound later, it was discovered that I have several gallstones, and one that is over 2.5 centimeters in diameter.

After being released, I got hit with another painful attack on Monday. This one was actually worse than the first, but the medication the doctor prescribed worked wonders, and the attack only lasted a short time for which I was very grateful! I have an appointment with a specialist on Tuesday, September 11th to see what can be done. Although having gallbladder issues while being pregnant is not the best of news, I am very thankful that the baby is absolutely fine. God is good!
