Here's a random, silly video of Porter and Blu:

Today, Porter and I went out to Quail Hollow State Park in Hartville to check out the playground and go on a walk.

Porter, of course, made a beeline straight to the slide!

After our playground fun, we took a walk through the park.  It was lovely!

Today, Porter and I went to the Lake Milton State Park. We found a wonderful Jungle Jim to play on. Porter's becoming an excellent climber!

Also, we took a stroll along the beach. Porter loved gathering sand in his hands and then throwing it into the water. He was a sandy mess by the time we left!

Yesterday, while Brian and my dad were working hard in our backyard chopping wood, one of our neighbors let us know that they were getting rid of their playground equipment, and if we wanted it for our little boy, we could take it for FREE.

Of course, we gladly accepted this offer!

Last year, I bought a swing for Porter, but never found a good spot for it reside. I am so happy I kept it because it is the perfect addition to this playground!

We are so thankful for this playground set. With Porter having such a deep love to climb and play, this is an absolute blessing for him to have in our backyard.

As my dad said, we've already gotten our money's worth out of it!  Check out the video below to see Porter's reaction when he finds a playground in his very own backyard:

For a fun morning outing, we headed to the Akron Zoo. Porter was so excited!

One of his favorite parts of the zoo is the rope bridge. He crossed it 3 times!

Check out the video below:

Porter just loves when he gets to run without having to hold one of our hands. I think in his head he thinks, "FREEDOM!"

Another favorite of Porter's are the flamingos. He can watch them all day if we let him!

Porter earned his first shiner last night when he ran into a table.

What was really surprising was that Porter barely shed a tear, he just climbed into my lap and wanted held. It took me a few minutes to realize that he had a large, swollen, black eye!

I have a lot of parks that I enjoy visiting. The list is long, but one of these parks is Goodyear Heights Metro. With living in Ellet, this park is one of the closest to our home, so it gets visited frequently.

Porter also likes this park because it has water to see, rocks to throw, and bridges to cross. It is definitely a great park!

I believe there is a special relationship between a boy and his dog. Porter absolutely loves Blu, and Blu adores Porter.

Today, Porter got a hold of some chapstick. He was very excited to rub this on his own lips and thought Blu would like some too! I did have to save Blu from this idea. Porter usually shares everything he has with Blu, including his snacks, drinks, and toys.

Recently, Porter learned that if he has a dog cookie, he can get Blu to do just about anything he wants. He loves lording treats over her and getting her to sit, go in her crate, and follow him around the house.

Usually, Blu has to go through 10 minutes worth of hoops before she gets to enjoy her treat. He makes her work for her snacks!

March 13th is a monumental day for the Stephen Clan. It's a day when our household was enhanced, both in quantity and quality.

It's hard to believe that Porter has been with us for 2 years now. As his personality takes shape, we know God has given us a mighty, little man to rear and nurture.

I know God has great things in store for this child. Brian and I are truly blessed to be entrusted with the responsibility of raising him in the way he should go. Although we know we have a significant impact on his spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical development, it's amazing how his presence compels us to work through our own issues and grow into greater maturity, so in turn, we are more equipped in guiding him to realize his fullest potential.

Happy second birthday, my precious son. I look forward to this next year in your journey. I pray that it is blessed, and even at your young age, you are able to sense the path Father has laid out for you to follow. I pray that you are able to see His fingerprints all over the world around you, and you are continually brought to awe by his exquisite greatness.

Love Always and Forever,
Mommy

For Porter's Birthday, his Grandma Bev got him an adorable outfit. Here's Porter rocking his new threads and straw fedora!

Today, Porter and I stopped at Grandpa Gauder's for a quick visit. This was surely Porter's favorite part of his whole birthday. Grandpa let him sit on the tractor and the mower, pull lots of levers and knobs, and press a multitude of buttons. For a red-headed, inquisitive Bubby, life doesn't get much better than that!

Check out the video below of Porter, our little machinist:

Grandpa let me borrow his safety goggles for a project I am working on. Porter, of course, wanted to wear them on the way home.

In celebration of Porter's birthday, he enjoyed a scrumptious cupcake with sprinkles!

Porter rarely gets sweet treats at our house.

I think he was a little surprised when he saw the cupcake, but he was definitely excited!

With today being absolutely sunny and gorgeous, we headed to a playground in Tallmadge for a morning of fun!

Brian and I worked as a great team. I took pictures and he made sure Porter safely enjoyed himself on the playground equipment.

Slides are always a favorite, and Porter had plenty to chose from at this playground!

Here's a slideshow of our playground fun:

To celebrate Porter's second birthday, we headed to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium for an underwater adventure!

Porter's grandparents were also in attendance to celebrate this exciting milestone in his life.

Porter was able to hitch a ride on his Grandpa Gauder's shoulders through most of our aquarium visit. Thanks, Grandpa Gauder!

Looking Up at Lobsters

Here's what Porter and Grandpa were looking up at from the picture above: Lobsters!

One of my favorite sightings at the aquarium would have to be the Lion Fish! They are absolutely majestic!

Porter enjoyed looking in this tank. There were all sorts of interesting ocean creatures for him to enjoy including small sharks, rays, and horseshoe crabs.

It was a fun day! To find out more about this interesting aquarium, check out their website at http://greaterclevelandaquarium.com.

On Wednesday, our beloved digital camera fell to the dreaded death sentence of Canon cameras, the E18 error.

I'll admit that I shed several tears as I thought back on the thousands of images that have been taken with that camera over the course of 6 years.

After considerable debate, Brian and I decided to spring for a new Canon camera, which we picked up late Thursday night.

With a manual of over 200 pages, I am still trying to figure out how to successfully operate my new toy. These pictures were my first attempt to master the Canon G12. I still have a lot to learn!

Porter and I love to go on walks around the neighborhood. This afternoon, we enjoyed beautiful blue skies and bright sunshine on our journey around the block!

I find such delight in the sunshine. Even the dog poop Porter managed to get lodged in his shoe couldn't take away from our lovely time outside!

Today, Porter and I stopped by a public fishing spot in Mogadore to check things out.

Porter enjoyed seeing the geese on the water.

Also, part of the lake was frozen over.  Porter thought that was pretty cool!

Porter and I are always looking for new lakes and ponds to investigate.  He just loves water!
