Caught Red-Handed

Porter has a fascination with our kitchen trash can. He does a great job of throwing away trash, but he has a strong curiosity to explore the "treasures" inside of it as well.

We're always having to remind him that items can go into the trash, but they are not to come out!

Classic Car Museum

Today, we decided to head to visit the Classic Car Museum in Canton, OH. There were 46 historic cars in all, and a great deal of memorabilia from decades past.

Canton Classic Car Museum

Porter's favorite part of the whole museum would have to be this little car he found that was the perfect size for him!

Check out the video below:

Brian really enjoyed seeing this 1937 Cord Model 812 Supercharged Phaeton Convertible. It had to be very futuristic looking for its time period!

My favorite car was a 1937 armor-plated Studebaker that was bought new by the Canton Police Department. I didn't realize that there were "bullet proof" vehicles back in the 1930's!

Also, Brian and I were both fond of this 1970 Jaguar Model E-Type Series II.

The Pruning Process

Today is a momentous day for the Stephen Clan. We are officially free of cable television! Although this is going to be an adjustment for us all, we are in agreement that it is for the best.

It is my belief that God is using 2012 as a year of alignment for our family. I believe our duty for this year is to establish Godly priorities, prune what is unnecessary and nurture what is essential. Needless to say, I think this year is going to hurt a bit. As any decent gardener knows, pruning is crucial for good growth. However, as we all know, cutting anything off, whether necessary or not, is painful.

I am excited for what 2012 will bring. I think we have taken the first step, and eliminated a distraction and expense from our lives. I know this is only one of many though. Let the pruning process begin!

An Amazing Gift

As many of you know, Brian works for the J.M. Smucker Company in their Customer Logistics division. He is the Team Manager of the Central Region/Private Label group, and has the luxury of managing 6 wonderful individuals. For Christmas, these 6 generous and thoughtful souls gave our family an incredible gift, a family membership to the Akron Zoo!

We're extraordinarily thankful for this gift. It allows us to get out of the house, enjoy the sunshine, explore nature, spend quality family time together, and learn about God's creation.

Today was the first day that Porter and I used our family membership to the zoo, and we had a wonderful time! Porter was absolutely fascinated by the flamingos! He sat and watched them for over 10 minutes!

Porter I were fortunate to get an up close look at a few amazing animals including lions, snow leopards, a tiger, and even bears!

Industrious Baby

Porter has learned that he can move Blu's crate in order to climb it and lock the garage and side doors in our home.

Last week, I went to get something out of my car, and he locked me out! Thanks goodness Brian was home to let me back in!
