Teething sucks. Porter's front teeth are beginning to work their way down, and life at the Stephen household has been a little crazy! Thank the Lord for Baby Orajel!

Although the last few evenings have been a little rough with these teeth trying to make an appearance, we still have the sweetest little boy we could ever ask for! Here he is his playing motor boat!

Here are our favorite babies sitting together. Brian and I certainly have some great-looking kids!

Porter's Monday

Today, I went to Grandma and Grandpa Gauder's house. I was a good boy! I didn't cry or fuss even though my mouth feels all funny. Mom says I am getting teeth, whatever those are.

When I got home, I went on a walk. I love to go on walks with Mommy and Daddy! There's so much to see. I really enjoy looking at all the big trees and watching the bunnies hop by.

After all that, I practiced making my funny faces. I have many. I am really good at this one.

Looking Back

I came across this picture today and just couldn't believe this was once Porter. He was only 3 days old and so tiny! I don't even remember him being so small!

Brian's New Ride

Brian's New Car!

For the last few years, Brian and I have owned two of the smallest cars on the road. Although I adore my Scion xA, and Brian's Mini Cooper was one of the coolest cars you have ever seen, these cars were not meant for a family of three (plus a stroller, groceries, diaper bag, laptop bags, etc.) to travel comfortably in.

Brian Loves His Honda Civic

So after a lot of thought and a great deal of research, we ended up trading in the Mini for a new Honda Civic! It's just awesome! It actually gets better gas mileage than the Mini, and I no longer have to have my knees jammed up against the glove box!

Four Month Well Visit

Today, Porter had his 4 month check-up with Dr. Post. He now weighs 13 lbs. 8 oz. and is almost 25 inches long! He's growing so fast!

We started baby food last Saturday, and he just loves it! It's so fun to feed him. The faces he makes are priceless!

Present Envy

In celebration of Brian's promotion at work, his beloved wife got him a Keurig coffee maker. It's so cool!

I originally planned for him to take it to work, but the coffee is so good! I don't want to give it up!

Back to Work

For the last two weeks, I have been on summer break. It was great! Although I didn't get through my entire to do list, I got a few of the big tasks crossed off.

Now I am back to work, and I have a 3 major projects on the table! At least I got rested up over break!

Four Years and Still Standing

Tonight, Brian and I went to Ken Stewart's Tre Belle restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was amazing, and we got to meet Ken Stewart! So cool!

Porter loves to stand, and he has been doing it for a few weeks now! He needs help getting up, but once he's there, he's as happy as can be!

Porter's Great Grandparents

Porter has been fortunate enough to meet his truly "great" grandparents. My Grandma and Grandpa Gauder from Florida have been here visiting for the last few weeks.

Porter and His Great Grandpa & Grandma Gauder

I am so happy that Porter was able to spend some time with both of them while they were here. They were wonderful grandparents to me, and some of my fondest childhood memories were times that I spent with them.

Great Grandparents are Awesome!

Here is Porter hanging out with his Great Grandma & Great Grandpa Gauder and his Grandma and Grandpa Gauder (three generations of red heads are in this picture!):

Sleepless Night

Although the baby has figured out how to sleep through the night, his mom still needs some work. It's about 2AM, and I can't get to sleep. However, I must admit, I do enjoy having the house to myself in these late hours. Porter and Brian have long been out, and I was able to clean the kitchen, take a hot bath, play a few rounds of Solitaire on the computer, post new pictures to the blog, and catch up my grad school reading.

I adore being with my boys, but the occasional long, quiet night does wonders for my house and my sanity!

Porter's Big Splash

Every year since Brian and I have been together, we always head over to his cousin's house for a fourth of July picnic.

Usually everyone goes swimming, except for Brian and me. (We're only into pools that have swim up bars!) However, with Porter in tow, this was the first year Brian ventured in.

Although Porter wasn't exactly thrilled with being in the water, he didn't cry or fuss. So all in all, it was a pretty successful experience!

Getting Ready for the 4th

We were so excited when we found this little outfit for Porter.

He is going to look quite spiffy for our national holiday!

I wonder if I will see fireworks?

The World Around Us

In our neighborhood, there is always so much to see. Especially during the warm weather months, people are always out walking their dogs, pushing strollers, and pulling wagons filled with children (we see at least 3 a day!). One thing I love about Ellet is the strong sense of family togetherness that has been established.

It's fun to watch Bubby observe the world. Not only do our windows allow us to view people walking by, but there are also cars, bikes, squirrels, and lots of bunnies to examine. Although these sights become mundane to most of us, the world is utterly fascinating through the eyes of child.
