Sleepy Baby

Mr. Porter was one tired baby today! He was pretty much out the entire day! Of course, I had to take a picture!

Monkeying Around

Obviously, we have a thing for monkeys! Here's Porter hanging out with his furry friends:

Porter & His Furry Friends

I actually got a lot of great pictures from our monkey business today. Here's a slideshow of some of my favorites:

Baby Monkey

I thought this was a really cute picture, but for whatever reason, it doesn't look much like Porter to me. Maybe it's because his mohawk isn't all the way up!

Grandpa's or Bust

Porter just loves visiting with his Grandpa Gauder, and his Grandpa Gauder just loves having him visit!

With having to go into the office occasionally for meetings, I have been very fortunate to be able to drop Porter off at his Grandpa's to be watched. It is obvious that Grandpa Gauder just adores his grandson, and we are so thankful of the close relationship these two will have.

Porter is Growing!

With Porter turning a month old on Saturday, we decided to weigh him and see how much he has grown. To our amazement, Porter is just about 8 pounds now! He's growing quick!

Although he still favors being up at night more than during the day, we are slowly getting him on a more normal schedule.

Oh well, his mom has always been a night owl, I guess he is just trying to keep me company!

Porter's New T-Shirt

Any baby boy that comes out of the womb with a red mohawk, should probably own a shirt like this...

Thanks, Sharon! We can always count on you to make us laugh!

One Awesome Meal

My dear friend, Sharon, brought over a lovely meal for us to enjoy! It included a scrumptious homemade lasagna, salad with feta cheese (my favorite!), garlic bread, and a fantastic Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon. Yum!

One Great Meal

There was so much delicious food that even baby Porter got a plate!

Feast for Baby!

Thanks so much, Sharon! This was awesome!

First Day Working from Home

Well, we got through our first day of working from home! Everything went pretty well. It was stressful at times, but we managed to get through it!

Thank the Lord for my dear friend, Lindsay! She bought Porter the gym that you see in these pictures. It really kept him entertained during the times I couldn't hold him. What a blessing!

We love Lindsay very, very much!

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." ~Hebrews 12:1-3

I read this passage today and couldn't hold back the tears. Throughout my life, I have been extraordinarily guilty of forgetting the enormity of that which is Easter. I tend to get caught up in the extraneous elements of this holiday, and forget what the day is really all about. When I read this passage today, it encouraged me, and reminded me how immense this holiday truly is.

Although I love and adore my son, becoming a mom has brought on moments of weariness to say the least. However, I know that God has plotted a course for my life, and for the lives of my husband and child. We need to do all we can to run our race with everything we've got. We can only do this if we keep our eyes on Christ. The second that focus is lost... so are we. I wish I didn't know that as well as I do. It is so easy to get off track, and speaking from experience, it is so easy to get weary and lose heart. Keeping focus on Christ is the only hope, and what glorious hope that is.
