There is so much to do at Ramseyer's for children of all ages. Both Porter and Stella had a great time!

Three weeks ago, Porter started ice skating lessons at the Alice Noble Ice Arena in Wooster. He's really enjoying the classes and has already surpassed his mother's skating abilities (which, truth be known, are non-existent).
Even though Porter has taken a few good falls on the ice, he has gotten up each time with a smile on his face. We are very proud of his efforts as well as his attitude!

To enjoy the perfection of today's weather, we headed over to Freelander Park in Wooster. The kids loved being on the playground, and Porter even found a great tree to climb. Fall is here and it is glorious!

On our way home from dropping Porter off at school, Stella and I regularly stop by Daddy's office for a quick hello since it's on the way. It is SUCH a blessing to live and work in the same community!

Porter just started an art class at the Orrville Public Library held on Wednesday afternoons. He seems to really like the class, and since we were there (and Mommy was being a bit pushy), Porter decided to sign up for his very first library card!

This week, Porter was asked to complete two service projects for Character Education Week at school. For his first project, he swept out his grandparent's garage (and did a right fine job at it as well).
For his second project, Porter knew he wanted to do something nice for his favorite 99-year old neighbor, Mrs. Clinton. After brainstorming a few ideas, Porter decided that bringing her a bouquet of flowers was the perfect choice. Above, you can see him standing on her stoop, waiting for her to open the door to his surprise. It was a very sweet moment.

Our poor blog has been neglected over the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately, this has been due to our computer AND camera meeting their demise within just a few days of one another. This has been so discouraging to my soul.
On the positive note, we have now replaced our computer with one that works much better than the last, but we're a ways off from being able to buy a new camera. Praise the Lord for being able to take half-way decent photos with the iPhone!

Porter and Stella's winter coats, hats, gloves, and boots came in the mail today from one of our FAVORITE children's stores, Carter's. Even though it's 90 degrees outside, both kiddos wanted to try on their new winter wear. I love this picture of Porter in his boots and shorts!
Stella was also quite fond of her new duds and had no interest in taking them off... no matter how hot it was outside!

It was on this day one year ago that we got the keys to our beloved Orrville home. It's been a wild first year with all of the many projects we've taken on, both inside and out, but seeing everything come together has been quite fulfilling. I am excited to see what the next year will bring!

Today was Bring-Your-Dog-to-Work Day at Smucker's, so Blu got to experience life at Daddy's office. Of course, being the dignified Sheltie that Blu is, she remained well-behaved, quiet and reserved (mostly staying under Brian's desk so she wouldn't have to interact with the less demure dogs). She is one prissy pup!
Smucker's recent acquisition of Big Heart Pet Brands has been a great blessing to Blu. Just look at all of the free doggie treats she has scored:

This afternoon, Stella had her 30-month well visit. She is now 34 inches in height (26th percentile), 27 pounds in weight (37th percentile), and has a head circumference of 47.5 centimeters (32nd percentile).
Dr. Russell asked if Stella is always so pleasant and good-natured. I told her that she is in which she replied, "What a blessing!" I couldn't agree more!
