While Stella was taking her afternoon nap, Porter and I tried our hand at making lava lamps. They were pretty easy to make. We just used a jar, water, vegetable oil, food coloring, glitter, and then the super exciting ingredient... Alka-Seltzer tabs!

This afternoon, we headed to Massillon for a family walk at John Glenn Grove. Even though it's almost July, we had to wear jackets. Oh, the joys of life in Ohio!
After walking a good bit, Stella got bored. Thank goodness Daddy was there to liven things up a bit!

Our kids are water fanatics, so when I came across this silly sprinkler today, I had to buy it. It appears to have been a good investment (for $9 at Aldi)!
Although Porter loved running through the sprinkler, he seemed to enjoy spraying his sister with the hoses the best. I guess that is what big brothers are for!

Today, Porter graduated from Orrville's Safetyville program! Safetyville is a week long fun and educational program sponsored by the Orrville YMCA, for the purpose of helping children going into kindergarten in the fall become more aware of general safety practices.
We are just so proud of you, Porter! You are going to ROCK kindergarten in the fall!

The kids and I went to have lunch with Daddy at work today. After pulling into the Smucker's parking, here's what we found:
Obviously, this is the bike of a man who is health-conscious and loves his babies. Now that's a REAL man, and I am certainly glad he's MINE!
Every morning, I put Stella on our bathroom counter and brush her crazy locks. This can take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes... seriously. This morning, I managed to distract her long enough with toys and my toothbrush to braid her hair. What a feat!

After watching a massive downpour of rain occur earlier this week, Brian made the decision to add a second drain that runs through the middle of the soon-to-be playground area.
It seems that we are never at a loss for outdoor projects this year!

This afternoon, the kids and I had a lovely walk through Johnson Woods State Nature Preserve.
The highlight of this little outing for Porter and Stella was finding sticks on the path and throwing them into the woods. This made for a long visit at the park, but at least they cleared the entire mile-long trail!
